It’s been a month since we lost Lucy, and after some back and forth I opted to let things progress on my wife’s timeline. As much as she was my /our dog, she was more my wife’s as I didn’t come into the picture until she was 2. Well, apparently Mrs. Humpkins was ready enough to bring home a new puppers this weekend. I present to you, Ozzy. He’s an 8 week old Blue/White Boston Terrier. Estelle loves him and is being a good big sister, showing him the ropes. The cats don’t seem to care one way or another, and he doesn’t seem overly interested in them. His eyes are right now a light greenish/blueish/grey and they most likely will end up staying a lighter greenish/grey.

He was surprisingly good his first night home. Only went potty outside, ate some dinner, played with some toys, and most importantly, minimal crying when we put him in his crate for bedtime last night. Best of all, he slept through the night! I’m sure we’ll have some accidents and some nights where he just won’t sleep through the night, but all in all it was a successful first day/night.

Yes Bostons! I’m trying to convince my parents they should get a third (I can’t have my own right now, but I’m close enough to borrow theirs). Their oldest is quite feeble though right now and they don’t want to stress her with a puppy.

I’m sorry to hear that about the elder Boston. Probably best not to add a puppy into that mix...yet. I also think you should be borrowing theirs often.

Thanks. I have a feeling he’s going to grow into a rambunctious ball of Boston energy so the name Ozzy seemed fitting for some reason.

Well I’m dogsitting for them the next two weeks, so I’ll have plenty over that time. I am a little freaked the old one might die on me, but she’s been about the same for months so hopefully she can keep going.

Oh come on with those ears! Ozzy’s still not to the point where he has turbo piranha mode yet, but we’ll get there soon. He has his moments when he’s super energetic and playful with Estelle, but still so young the smallest burst of energy tuckers him out for a while.

Yeah she has gained a pound in a week, she went from 12 to 13 lbs and her activity has increased! Ears just went all the way up a couple days ago.

What a cutie! Congrats!

Puppers are often pretty well-behaved in their new home for the first day or two, since they’re overwhelmed by the change. After that, they start to get comfortable and begin to express their true personality . Good luck!

Thank! Exactly. Estelle was almost 9 months when I rescued her so she didn’t have that first calm, everything is so new phase longer than about an hour. Ozzy is already getting very comfortable with everything and showing his raucous personality. And it’s fantastic.

Ozzy has quickly gotten used to everything and his rambunctious side is starting to show this afternoon. They said they think he’s going to be 18-20 lbs but in looking at his stockiness and paw size, I’m thinking a 23-ish lb little tank.

Most frenchies are 23 to 27 I guess. They shrunk the English bulldogs to make them about that big to travel with. Her mom is 26 so I expect that.

Bostons are all over the place, from 12 to 30 lbs but most I meet fall in the 18 to 25 range . Estelle is around 22 and Lucy was 28. Ozzy’s mom is only about 16, but his dad and grandad were mid to high 20s and I’m thinking he’s going to take after them.
